Tabouleh is a traditional salad from the Middle
Eastern cuisine. Although the seasoning and vegetables it contains
are quite common, Tabouleh's predominant ingredient (burghul or bulgur
wheat) is not so well known.
Responsible for a wonderful nutty flavor, bulgur
is a select wheat from the fields that is is soaked and steamed in
water. and then dried. We have already combined bulgur with select
seasonings for easy preparation.
INGRIDIENTS
Bulgur Wheat, Dehydrated Vegetables (Onions, Green
Onions, Parsley and Garlic), Salt, Spices, Citric Acid and Natural
Lemon Flavoring.
DIRECTIONS
Place the following into a bowl; 1 cup Tabouleh
Mix, 7/8 cup cold water, 1/4 cup olive oil. Mix well and refrigerate
for at
least 30 minutes.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Our Tabouleh Mix can be served hot or cold.
For a refreshing salad serve on a bed of lettuce with tomatoes,
greek olives and chopped chicken or shrimp.
Tabouleh makes a nice, hot, pilaf-like side dish.
Tabouleh is also wonderful when used as a stuffing
for grape leaves.
